All mailed entries to NASA-Ames should have names, phone numbers, addresses, e-mail addresses, and ages.
Teachers should send all student projects from your classes together.
There are two age categories: Grades 6-9 and 10-12. On each age group there are two sub-categories for individual and group entries.
There is one grand prize for all categories.
Focus what part of space colonization does your theoretical engineering focus on?
Summary (1 paragraph)
Background materials used
Description and justification of design
Qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Pictures, video, video of models, etc.

Population: size of your school or city/town, or your ideal population for you to live with.
Size: not overcrowded
Minimal mass from Earth
Break no physical laws
Reasonaable extrapolations of existing technology.
Clean internal environment
Minimal leaks
Use metric units

Will be based on but not limited to:

There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each category.
All participants will be recognized with a certificate of participation.
All winners (grand prize and 1,2,3 in all categories) will be invited on a tour of NASA-Ames escorted by the contest organizer Al Globus. Transportation to NASA-Ames is not included. The one-day tour will be in early July.
